Game Of Life

This week’s illustration by Felicity Tse is called “The Game of Life” where each person is assigned a companion:

A. Debbie Downer – Someone who always has to lower the mood.

B. Great Scott – A person who is always peachy keen.

C. Looky Luke – Think of a person who is green with envy.

D. Lazy Susan – Someone who is always fatigued, tired and just doesn’t want to do anything.

E. Crazy Carrie – A person who isn’t making rational decisions.

Which one is your companion, or do you have all of them in you?

While its a less serious way of looking at mental illness, if we visualize them as something other than who we are, its easier to draw a line between our innate actions, thoughts and habits vs. the actions, thoughts and habits that are affected by the companion we’re assigned to. We’re not all lucky to be bestowed with “Great Scotts,” but we can learn to cope as we go along our own journeys.

A big thanks to Felicity Tse for her wonderful and thought-provoking artwork once again. We hope that for all you mental health warriors out there are inspired by Felicity’s work and if you want to contribute to our site in the future, please email us at
