Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired | Day 11

I wanted to get up early and go on a run before my flight and I made it 2km before I called it a day. I cleaned myself up after a few more sit ups an push ups, then made my way to the airport to meet my brother.

At the airport, my brother started with some drinking to ease his anxiety right at 11 a.m., the legal first drink in Canada. I got up from the table and started to walk around just to get more steps in. I think I’m too obsessed with my Fitbit. On my walk I saw a man with crazy face tattoos and immediately recognized him as Florida Rapper, Stitches. When I first saw a music video of Stitches on Youtube, I nearly shat myself. I know what you’re thinking. How did you almost shit yourself? Well, I’ll just attach the video so you can see for yourself.

Ummmmmm, yeah. I bet your life will never be  the same after that. I’m sure the last person he thought would recognize him in a Toronto airport was a 40 year old guy, but hey, I like to keep up with what the kids are watching these days. And when I say kids, I mean the fucked up ones 🙂Stitches sick tired of being sick and tired edward ernest I was very thankful that he was willing to take a picture with me. I rarely want to take pictures with celebrities but no one would have believed this one.

After the picture and my brother’s drinks, we boarded the plane and he was relatively calm for a guy who hates flying. Before we knew it we were in New York and then we walked.

I could tell my brother was already getting annoyed with my walking habits. Walking in circles while waiting for lights, sometimes jogging on the spot. You know….normal stuff. I didn’t care about what he thought anyway. We were there for a purpose. However, before we went to see the play that night, we wanted to do two things. Have a burger, which I felt very guilty about and wanted to walk it off as fast as I could. This also annoyed my brother to no end. Fuck him though. I needed to do it for my own sanity.  Once that was done, we went to get some drinks and arrived at a liquor store. I opened the door and who walked out but none other than Brooke Shields. We smiled at each other as she thanked me for holding the door. She’s even better looking in person. A true beauty.

After that, we pumped some of those drinks inside of us and went to the play. I prayed that this performance would make a difference. Like super prayed. The trip would be a waste in my opinion if it was a dud……Thankfully Chris Gethard and ‘Career Suicide’ lived up to my expectations. We laughed and cried and laughed and cried. At the end, my brother wanted to meet him. He was that moved. In the play he came to terms that taking medication was best for him and that he shouldn’t fight his stigma of mental illness anymore. I hoped that my brother heard this and remembered it when he got back to Toronto.  For myself, it made me rethink this website and what I wanted it to be. It was inspiring. His deft use of comedy and ability to poke fun of himself was nothing short of brilliant. He made inaccessible topics accessible. I knew right there that this site needed to do the same thing.

All in all, today was a rounding success……. Wait, wait, wait. Did you think the night ended there? This is New York!!!

We ended up going to our favourite burlesque show at The Slipper Room. It’s too hard to explain but we laughed our asses off. The host is a gentleman named Sir Richard Castle and he’s like the perverted Uncle in your family who always tells inappropriate jokes. A class act indeed. We make sure we see him every time we visit.

We ended the night at around 1 A.M. but I’ll discuss this  tomorrow as I counted our late trip to Katz’s Deli on that side of the pond. I’m a stickler to the rules.

Night, Night!!

It might even seem like he cares about you and wants to be your friend. But please, don't be fooled. We've seen him kick a dog a with a broken leg before and have heard him on the phone berating his grandmother for only giving him a $5 birthday gift.Be thankful he's not related to you.
