Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired | Day 14
I was pretty lazy this morning and couldn’t muster myself out of bed…It being a Sunday and all. Sometimes I can be lazy. Haven’t I earned it? I’m having an issue believing it though.
When I finally got myself into my morning routine, I did push ups and sit ups but could only muster 10 each today. When I went out for my run, my legs would only let me go 1.71km. I was disappointing my Fitbit. Actually, I was disappointing myself. I had to think hard about why I was being so hard on myself and eventually I had to let go of the old voice in my brain. I reminded myself that this wasn’t a race. This is a lifestyle. You’re not in a hurry as that’s not sustainable.
It reminded me of the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change and a little tidbit about cramming. The author used an example of cramming and farming. If I have a plan to change my life, cramming or binging and purging isn’t very effective. He states that a farmer has a lifestyle. The farmer adheres to the discipline of what makes a good farmer and in a farmers case, he/she cannot cram anything. They need to take the time and develop their land properly or they will not have proper harvest.
So instead of running and going hard, I just walked myself home. I needed to get some work done on building this site, so the rest of my day was in front of a computer, then taking a stroll here and there to get my steps in. Nothing crazy.
A boring day but I earned it 🙂
Having a drama free life right now is quite frankly the best thing ever. When my phone doesn’t ring, it’s music to my ears. I’d like to be less attached to my phone and I’ll work on that soon.
SIDE NOTE: I’m sure those with kids are pretty envious of my days right about now and I know its much easier to do what I’m doing without the responsibility of marriage or kids. If this is you and you’re reading this right now, I’m giving you the biggest virtual hug this side of Greenland.
