Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired | Day 23

I woke up with a never say die attitude today. The only thing on my mind was getting into proper shape and running a 5km race on my birthday, which was now 32 days away. 

Without going through my logs, and off the top of my head, I think the furthest I’ve run so far has been 2.5 km, but today, today that was going to change. I needed to step up my game. I needed to grind this shit out.

After the usual push up and sit up routine, I started running like Forest Gump and I was not going to stop. I said to myself, even if you have pain, and don’t think you can go any further, today it’s not an option. I mapped out the route on my phone and wouldn’t stop until the whole loop back to my place was completed. 

And I ran, and I ran, and I ran. When I finished that loop, I looked down at my Fitbit and it shined bright with a big 3.5 km flash. 

I was ecstatic! I did fist pumps inside my head over and over and over again. I felt like I was 100 feet tall. When someone stresses the value of exercise, and you just don’t get it, and brush them off…… stop.  You’ve never experienced the feeling from pushing your body and I dare you to just try it once. It’s the best feeling in the world. It really is.

That was the end of my running for the day, but I found excuses in the day to walk when I could. Going to the bank. Finding a place to eat over lunch that was further than normal. It’s these little things that have helped me get back into fighting shape and lose 12 pounds pretty quickly.

My night was pretty boring. I’m getting ready to move out of this temporary space and move into another temporary space…..my parents house. They won’t be there though. They’re going to Florida tomorrow and I’ll move in the day after. 

There’s no way I’m moving in with my parents actually being there. I want to find an apartment I like and not a rush job. Who knows how long that would take? 

I’m an introvert that is anti-social at heart. I like my alone time. Just not happening.
