Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired | Day 4
Day 4 was much like Day 3. I woke up and jumped right into my morning routine. Push ups and sit ups, followed by a walk to work. I could still feel soreness around my heart and knew not to push myself today. I didn’t sleep very well so I was just tired. Yes, I’m a baby. Too much was on my mind health wise the night before. I thought about my life choices on my walk and started to kick myself about it all. The stress of this wasn’t helping as I checked my heart rate on my Fitbit and it had the direction of an aroused male. I knew it was best to stop thinking and focus on my breath to calm myself down. Thank you Wherever You Go, There You Are. If you get one book about Mindfulness, that’s the one.
Work was somewhat stressful, hard to explain but a financing deal that our company was involved with seemed like it was headed in the wrong direction and I had to make phone calls all day putting investors at ease. Not the most fun when you’re dealing with uncertainty. The lack of control for me is quite an issue which is why being an entrepreneur and building this website had a huge appeal to me.
Lunch today was difficult. When I sold my house, I promised Priscilla (an older colleague of mine that I will probably write more about in the future) that I would buy lunch for everyone at the office from her favourite Dim Sum restaurant. I’m a make a promise keep a promise kinda guy so watching all these people be gluttonous while I was having salad wasn’t my idea of a good time. If I was three weeks into this new way of life, I would have eaten the dim sum with pleasure, however, I needed to get into a routine and that meant no delicious shrimp dumplings for me. I just can’t have one shrimp dumpling……I need around 10……. That’s love.
After work, I did the walk home, push ups and sit ups like usual. Still the same amounts. Nothing crazy. I knew I needed to sleep early so I watched Team America: World Police to give me some guaranteed laughs as I hadn’t seen it in awhile.
I fell asleep with the hope of waking up and having the soreness/other maladies disappear. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine………..Sometimes medicine is the best medicine.
And yes, I’m still really boring 🙂
