It’s now day 58 of this journey and day 2 in my mini-goal of hitting 200,000 steps in a seven day period. And my step count did not disappoint as I hit 34,283 steps on my Fitbit and I’m way ahead of the pace I need, and I’m thrilled to fucking bits that I don’t have to play catch up. I want to be able to coast through the 200k level holding my hand in the air and while posing like Ben Johnson when he was crossing the finish line in the 1988 Olympics.
For those of you that will bad talk Ben Johnson, I will have none of it. Everyone in that race was on steroids, and he was the only one that got caught. So take your opinions elsewhere….. And a little side note to this….Kids! Don’t take steroids! Very bad for you.
The more I’ve been stepping, the more calories I’ve been taking in. So I’m not sure the extra steps are useful as I’m just working one part of my body. However, I do love having the excuse of eating a whole pizza. But it’s not like I’m actually shedding weight when I’ve upped my set count at all.
Once I finish this seven-day goal, I’ll need to find what the right balance of everything is.
I also did sprints today in hopes that I won’t be such an embarrassment when I play soccer next. I can’t believe I put a level 3 out of 5 soccer player when I signed up. I’ve been thinking about it since game one. I’m a one!!! I’m literally the worst on my team in every way, and it’s been bugging me.
It kinda reminds me of the first time I had sex and after I was just beside myself with embarrassment at how bad I was and I vowed that I needed to become a student of the game so it wouldn’t happen again.
Embarrassment is such a great motivator, yet I don’t wish it on other people.
