The Unbalanced Being of the Day | Barack Obama

Today is the last day in the Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. We’re sure that his last day in the Oval Office will be one of joy and sadness. He no longer has the pressure of leading the free world, which is a giant weight off his shoulders. However, at the same time, he’s giving way to the most controversial President Elect in the modern era of American Federal Politics, which weighs on him in a different way. President Donald Trump will now shape the lives of his children and their future children. What a conflicting day this has turned out be, don’t you think?

*Just to put this out there, I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I’m not a fan of politicians as a whole.

Now back to Barack Obama and his legacy. If anything was going to define him, it was Obamacare aka the Affordable Care Act. A very flawed system that angered many and helped a plethora of others. Now, the first thing on the new President’s agenda is to rid the United States of America of Obamacare and supposedly have a better system to replace it completely…… or so we’re told. Do you believe that? Let’s cross our fingers. If so, it will probably be called Trumpcare and that’s where our Obama’s conflict begins.

How would you feel if everything you worked for was then taken away from you? All of your accomplishments gone. He was elected as a  beacon of HOPE and CHANGE. He was the first black President of the United States. He represented inclusiveness of all races, religions and sexual orientations. Now, the country decided, they didn’t want that at all. How’s that for harsh?

The country is now divided. The new administration was elected on a new kind of hope and change. One that is not inclusive of everyone’s rights. A Vice President that does not think equal rights should be given to the LGBT community. A President who has declared war on Mexicans, as well as Muslims. He is separating people instead of bringing them together. Everything Barack Obama tried to accomplish socially is now being torn apart at the seams in a blink of his eyes.

Obama has been very vocal in his dismay towards the rhetoric and policies of President Trump. How much of this is due to him destroying everything that he built and everything he stood for?

If it were me, I’d be thrown into quite the depression. Part of being depressed is feeling the loss of control and right now, Obama is not in control and there’s nothing he can do about it. Maybe, he’s thinking to himself, how did I get here? What could I have done so this situation never happened? He MUST be questioning himself. How can he not be? Whatever happens now is partly his own fault. He must shoulder part of this and not point the finger at others. Half the country voted for an extreme because they obviously didn’t think they were being listened to and that’s what he needs to understand. Maybe he wasn’t as inclusive as he thought? Maybe he wasn’t the President he thought he was being? These questions will haunt him on his final day. These are the thoughts of a man with a now uncertain past, wondering how he can learn from everything, to help pave the way for a legacy of the future.

This is the last day of President Barack Obama and that’s why he’s out Unbalanced being of the Day.

It might even seem like he cares about you and wants to be your friend. But please, don't be fooled. We've seen him kick a dog a with a broken leg before and have heard him on the phone berating his grandmother for only giving him a $5 birthday gift.Be thankful he's not related to you.
