Top Ten Phobias of Batman

In the world of fandom, Batman is the most celebrated character of all time…….Yes, more than Superman. Why? Because Batman is the most flawed super hero of any generation. In fact, he may not be a super hero at all. Many see him as a vigilante. Another group see him as a deeply troubled man. The overall consensus though is this, people love him because he represents them on paper and on screen. In the weirdest of ways, he’s every man.

Chiroptophobia | Fear of Bats – Let’s just get this one out of the way, shall we? Do we really need to say anything about this one? I didn’t think so…….I just want to point out that my ex-boyfriend thought this meant baseball bats and that I regret everything about dating someone so stupid.

Agateophobia | Fear of Insanity – He may be able to beat the living crap out of every super villain out there, however, his biggest enemy just so happens to be himself. He’s definitely living on the edge and has a multitude of mental health issues……..that he never wants to address, said every girlfriend he’s ever had. Thus, the careful balancing act, knowing that his unresolved mental health issues may take him down a road he can never come back from……My Uncle Rick tried to plead insanity, but it didn’t work.

Ailurophobia | Fear of Cats – Everyone thinks the Joker is Batman’s greatest foe, however, the Catwoman has an internal win on Batman. She’s a master of manipulation and works the heart strings more than the fisticuffs. Meow!…….Oh, how I wish I was Catwoman.

Dikephobia | Fear of Justice – I know what you’re thinking….. he brings bad dudes to justice. Yes, but no, but yes, but no. He does that because he knows the system in Gotham is corrupt. He fears Gotham justice because there is no such thing and in his mind, never will be…….I wish every member of my family had this fear. I may have had a less traumatizing upbringing if it were so.

Dishabiliophobia | Fear of Undressing in Front of Someone – If Batman got undressed, everyone would know that he’s Bruce Wayne. The whole gig would be up!………For me, lights off during sex is a must.

Doxophobia | Fear of Receiving Praise – Batman never wants any credit for anything. He’s super humble. In the Jewish faith, he’d be called a mensch…….I only know this because I once dated a Jewish guy and he was the best, but I scared him away…….insert crying face here.

Mnemophobia | Fear of Memories – The memory of his parents murder keeps him going, but it’s also the reason he stays up late at night. Those memories will haunt his very existence until the day he dies……These types of memories are too triggering for me. Let’s move on.

Philophobia | Fear of Falling in Love or Being in Love – No matter what, Batman will always fear love because no matter what, he’d never be able to fully protect his partner. It feeds into the forever lonely and conflicted soul that is Batman…….To quote Milhouse Van Houten “So this is what it sounds like, when doves cry.”

Enissophobia | Fear of Criticism – Has anyone ever noticed that Batman/Bruce Wayne is really into himself? He also doesn’t play well with others. It’s always HIS way or the highway. Guys like him don’t like criticism…… Um…..Screw Batman and all my Exes like him.

Politicophobia | Fear or Abnormal Dislike of Politicians – Besides Commissioner Gordon, Batman doesn’t trust any fat cat down at City Hall……. Even Harvey Dent went sour. Who would of thunk that?……..My Uncle Rick was an Elected School Trustee. Enough said.

And those are the Top Ten Phobias of Batman.
